    How it works

    About this tool

Banners are one of Minecraft's best decorations, but layering patterns on a loom is slow and easy to get wrong. Design it here first: the preview updates as you stack layers, and you get a single /give command that spawns the finished banner. The command uses the modern Java 1.20.5+ banner_patterns format (also works on 1.21). The preview approximates the in-game look — the command is exact.

    FAQ

How many patterns can a banner have?

A loom applies up to 6 patterns on top of the base colour, so this designer caps at six layers to match what you can build in survival.

Which Minecraft version is the command for?

The /give command uses the Java 1.20.5+ item-component format with the modern banner_patterns IDs. It also works on 1.21. Bedrock Edition uses a different system and is not covered.

How do I build the banner in survival?

Use a loom: start with the base-colour banner, then apply each pattern in order with the matching dye. The tool lists the exact loom steps under the command.
