Enchantment Finder

Pick any weapon, tool or armor piece — see every enchantment it accepts, with max levels, treasure flags and conflicts. Or search an enchantment to see what it fits. Java 26.2.

Treasure = never on the enchanting table (loot, fishing, trading or structures). Curse = can't be removed with a grindstone. Conflicting enchants can't share one item.

How enchanting works

  1. Enchanting table — needs lapis + XP; higher bookshelf counts (up to 15) unlock level-30 enchants. Only non-treasure enchants appear.
  2. Anvil — combine enchanted books (from fishing, loot, trading, bastions…) with any compatible item. This is the only way to apply treasure enchants like Mending.
  3. Conflicts — items can't hold two enchants from the same exclusive group (e.g. Silk Touch + Fortune). Combining conflicting books on an anvil simply keeps one.

FAQ

What enchantments can a mace have?

Density V, Breach IV, Wind Burst III (ominous vaults only), Smite V, Bane of Arthropods V, Fire Aspect II, Unbreaking III, Mending and Curse of Vanishing. Density, Breach, Smite and Bane are mutually exclusive.

What enchantments can the spear have?

The spear (new in 26.2, every tier including copper) takes Sharpness/Smite/Bane of Arthropods (pick one), Knockback, Fire Aspect, Looting, the spear-only Lunge III — a treasure enchant that supercharges sprinting charge attacks — plus Unbreaking, Mending and Curse of Vanishing.

What are treasure enchantments?

Enchants that never show up on the enchanting table — Mending, Frost Walker, Soul Speed, Swift Sneak, Wind Burst and both curses. You find them in loot chests, by fishing, from villager trades or in specific structures.

Why can't I put Infinity and Mending on my bow?

They're mutually exclusive on bows — you must pick unlimited arrows (Infinity) or self-repair (Mending). Crossbows dodge this entirely: they can have Mending and don't use Infinity.
