Timer
A 25/5 pomodoro, a stopwatch, a live countdown to any date, and the exact time between two dates. One page, four modes.
25 minutes of focus, 5 of break.
Everything is timed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab stops the clock.

What the date modes report
Six readouts for a difference, four units for a countdown, all in your local time zone.
- calendar breakdown
- Years, months and days, clamped to real month lengths.
- in weeks
- The same span counted in whole weeks plus the days left over.
- total hours
- The gap in hours, rounded down.
- total minutes
- The gap in minutes, rounded down.
- weekdays
- Monday to Friday days in the range, both ends included.
- weekend days
- Saturdays and Sundays in the range, both ends included.
- countdown
- Days, hours, minutes and seconds to a target, ticking every second. A target in the past counts up instead, and says so.
How it works
Running a focus round
- Pick a length. Focus 25 to work, Break 5 between rounds, Long break 15 after four of them.
- Press Start. The countdown shows in the tab title, so you can switch tabs.
- When time is up you get a triple beep, and a notification if you allowed them. The session counter tracks your day.
What the date modes tell you
- Exact difference: years, months and days, calendar-aware, so leap years and unequal months are handled, plus the same span as total weeks, days, hours and minutes.
- Weekdays and weekends: how many working days and weekend days fall in the range, counting both end dates.
- Live countdown: pick any future moment and watch it tick down to the second.
About this tool
The Pomodoro Technique is simple: commit to 25 minutes of single-task focus, then take a real 5-minute break with no half-working. After four rounds, take a longer break. The short, defended interval beats a vague "work for a few hours" plan because starting is easy and distraction has a deadline.
The date modes do both directions: the exact gap between two moments, and a live countdown to a single date. Planning a launch, counting down to a holiday, or settling how many days are left until a deadline all use the same two inputs.
Everything runs in your browser in your own time zone. Nothing is uploaded, and the focus log is stored on this device only.
FAQ
Why 25 minutes?
Short enough that starting feels easy, long enough to get real work done. The exact number is not sacred; the commitment to single-tasking is what matters.
Do notifications work in the background?
Yes. Allow notifications when prompted and the timer alerts you even from another tab. The countdown also shows in the tab title.
What counts as a session?
Only completed focus rounds of 20 minutes or more increment the counter. Breaks and abandoned rounds do not.
Does the timer keep running if I close the tab?
No. It is a page timer, not an account service. Keep the tab open; pinning it works well.
Does the stopwatch stay accurate in a background tab?
Yes. Every mode reads the clock rather than counting frames, so a throttled or hidden tab loses no time. The display catches up the moment you come back.
How is the difference between two dates calculated?
The tool shows the exact span as years, months and days (calendar-aware, so it accounts for different month lengths and leap years), and also as a single total of days, weeks, hours and minutes.
Does it count weekdays or working days?
Yes. Alongside the total, it counts how many weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekend days fall in the range, inclusive of both the start and end date.
Is the countdown live?
Yes. Pick any future date and time and the countdown ticks down every second in days, hours, minutes and seconds. Everything runs in your browser using your local time zone.
